Last year I was lucky enough to fly with premiere airline Etihad Airways as I travelled halfway across the world from Australia to Milan Fashion Week (hashtag lucky Lisa). To say that the normally treacherous, long-haul flight was a complete & utter dream is an understatement. So here’s five reasons why you should think about flying with Etihad Airways on your next overseas trip…

There is no better way to prepare for a daunting 33 hour flight across the globe than in Etihad’s relaxing, light-filled lounge. What’s more you don’t even have to stress about making it to the gate in time, the friendly Etihad staff will personally inform you when it’s time to board. Now that’s luxury.

2. The Plane

Etihad Airways have recently started flying their next generation A380 aircrafts out of Australia, & let me tell you straight up, this is THE plane to fly. A superior level of comfort, luxury & design aesthetic is like nothing I have never seen in the air before. Oh & let’s not forget the opulent, leather-seated round bar, known as The Lobby, that greets you upon arrival onto this class-leading aircraft. What better way to kill those long hours than with an ice-filled rosé or two?

3. The Seat

If I thought the bar was amazing, I nearly sighed out loud when I was guided to my suite, sorry I mean, seat. Spacious doesn’t even begin to cover the appropriately named Business Studio. The ideal workspace to set up your new air office that conveniently transforms into a cocooned flat-bed for optimal rest. And if that wasn’t enough, there is even an in-built massage function. Now that is flying reimagined.

4. The Food

Inspired by some of the best eateries around the world, the decadent options for meals are seemingly endless. Whatever your tastes, the Etihad Airways menu has you covered. Say goodbye to tasteless, unappetising plane food & say hello to mouth-watering, restaurant-quality meals served fresh to your seat.

5. The Service

Friendly, professional, attentive & helpful, the Etihad Airways staff were an absolute delight. Ready to attend to my every need & assist in any way they could. Nothing beats good old-fashioned customer service these days does it?

Well, I think I have just convinced myself I am due for another overseas holiday (naturally)! There is certainly no doubt as to who I’ll be flying with so hopefully I’ll catch you on Etihad Airways soon! x
