THE PALM SPRINGS GUIDE TO HOSTING THE ULTIMATE BACHELORETTE PARTY

Earlier this year I was honored to be a bridesmaid for one of my all-time besties & so naturally the Bachelorette Party ideas machine in my head immediately went into overdrive. She was the girl who quickly became our official pool party host growing up & was always the life of the party. So we knew that we needed to go all out & throw one hell of a party. After a quick perusal on Pinterest (and a frantic pinning session on my newly created Bachelorette Party board), I knew exactly what our theme should be. She loved pools, bikinis, cocktails, summer & a weekend getaway. So the invitations were sent out, titled Palm Springs Before The Rings! Without a doubt the final product was even more outrageous than we could have ever imagined. And so future bridesmaids, pool party lovers & fellow flamingo enthusiasts, this Palm Springs Bachelorette Party guide is just for you. If you are looking for alcohol for the party (and why wouldn’t you), you will need to check your local area to see if there is a big delivery option, so Googling ‘best wine store denver‘ for example, would be a good start!

Select your Bachelorette Party location

It might seem like an obvious one (it’s a Palm Springs theme duh!) but when you live on the other side of the Pacific, you need to get creative with this angle. If Palm Springs isn’t a doable option for your ladies then you need to search for the next best thing. Pre-requisites are: warmth, sunshine, pool & room for a dance floor. We were lucky enough to be hosting our party in the midst of an Aussie summer so warmth & sunshine was a non-issue. We found a great, open-plan place on Airbnb that met all of our desert house needs perfectly.

Personalise your swimsuits

This little detail absolutely MADE our Mrs-to-be’s day. Adding a personalised touch is a great way to distinguish your Bachelorette in a completely unique way (no bride-to-be sashes here!). Doing it on a swimsuit for our Palm Springs Before The Rings party was a no-brainer. But why stop there? Why not get the whole bridal party involved? We nabbed all our swimsuits online through Private Party, who are my go-to’s for fun swimwear. Party time!

Get ready to flamingle

In case you weren’t aware, Palm Springs is home to many a flamboyance of flamingoes so naturally there ain’t no Palm Springs party without a flamingo or four. Think flamingo cakes, flamingo straws, flamingo lights, flamingo ornaments, flamingo pool inflatables…. the list goes on. Think of any decor, and you can be sure that you’ll be able to fit in the flamingo theme in there somewhere! To up the pizzazz a little bit, think about going all out and look for some stylish neon designs, of course with flamingoes, and more. There’s nothing you can’t do with neon signs! And more often than not, you can’t go wrong with those…any designs that reflect the bride’s styles and will make her go “That’s so awesome!” might make a wonderful addition to the jazzed-up party. The hero was definitely our “Let’s Flamingle” sign from Oh Shiny Paper Co. So I’m sure you get the gist, snap up anything you can find flamingo-esque.

Have a Palm Springs themed GIF booth

Ain’t no party without a photo booth am I right? We hired ours at Social Playground, added a Palm Springs Before The Rings logo to the images & set it up in front of a flamingo (what else) background. Throw in some props & you have yourself a Bachelorette Party hot-spot. Everyone loves a photo booth (including topless waiters)!

Iced drinks all round

Pick your poison, but our girl was a frozen daiquiri lover so that’s what we delivered. Skip the mess/fuss/slicing/stirring/blending & get yourself a cocktail machine. It makes SUCH a difference on the day. It also means that anyone who is underage won’t have to spend ages trying to find a fake id website. Instead of going to a bar to buy an overpirced cocktail, they can enjoy one by the pool which is just as good. If not better! . All you have to do is add the alcohol, how much is up to you (wink wink). We made ours with Vodka 6100. And of course no celebration is complete without popping some champagne. Our faves at Moet & Chandon were top of the guest list & our bride’s bubbles of choice.

Pineapple posies please

Get creative with your floral arrangements & try using scooped out pineapples as vases! This takes a fair bit of preparation so be sure to prepare all the vessels a day or two before the event. We got our gorgeous posies from the amazingly talented team at Hi Petal who even added mini pineapples to the bouquets. So cute!

Games that girls will love

We played pin the you-know-what on the topless Palm Springs pool boy (aka the groom), poolside pictionary (where answers were themed towards our bride-to-be), flamingo croquet & (of course) inflatable flamingo races! We also played the memory game which involved each attendant bringing a gift or token that related directly to a memory with our Bachelorette. She then had to guess who each gift was from & tell the story behind it. Plenty of laughs here. Some people might also want to consider incorporating some other games too. We did think about playing some casino games together. Poker would’ve been fun, but we didn’t have time in the end. One of the other bridesmaids told us that best-casino.net (found here) would be useful to help us find an online casino. We wish there was more time as that would’ve been fun to play. Some of us could’ve even made some money!

Decorate decorate decorate

Here is where you can go all out. Anything that fits in with the Palm Springs theme is a goer. We got deck chairs, pool inflatables, watermelon plates, pineapple straws, a mini golf set, flamingo sunglasses, palm tree table cloths… the list goes on. We stocked up on all our goodies at K-mart! Yep, three trolley-loads later & we were sorted for the best Bachelorette Party ever.

Have you thrown your bff a Bachelorette to remember? Would love to hear what fun themes you came up with! Drop us a comment below… xx
