A couple of months ago I was lucky enough to be whisked away with my Audi Australia fam to the beautiful West Australian coast, a place that has long been on my to-do list. Naturally, the weekend was absolutely incredible (with a great gang in tow) & exceeded all my expectations…
We were absolutely spoilt rotten by the incredible Audi Australia team who treated us to a weekend of good food, good wine and good company at the Margaret River Gourmet Escape. To translate, this denotes a four day food & wine festival held in the incredibly picturesque surroundings of Australia’s South West coast. Could be worse! We met celebrity chefs, sampled some of the best local produce going round, unleashed our inner sommeliers & barbecued on deserted beaches. My highlight, however, was definitely the lunchtime boat cruise complete with a helicopter joy ride over the crystal clear waters of the Indian Ocean. Not the worst way to spend a weekend right?
I was joined by a fab bunch of influencers including Eleanor Pendleton from Gritty Pretty, Georgia McDonald from George Eats, Ash from Gather & Feast, Saasha Burns from Bear Journal, and Tully Smyth from Young Blood. I’m so lucky in this industry to work alongside some insanely talented humans, all working hard & striving to build their own personal brands. I always find these trips so empowering & inspirational, plus when you’re surrounded by such calibre it’s very hard not to! This wonderful bunch of girls will be my friends for life & that in itself is something I am very proud to say. As I am in no doubt you are aware, the instagram world is so very saturated with bloggers these days, it’s extremely refreshing to meet such authentic & genuinely brilliant people.
Meanwhile, we spent the long weekend with our own personalised Audi’s which were, of course, a complete dream to drive. I certainly felt a bit special having my name on the side of one! If you follow me on instagram you will be well aware that I now the very proud driver of my very own mellow yellow Audi, the cutest little ray of sunshine that I have ever had the pleasure of driving! Apart from smacking myself with the self closing boot one too many times (classic Lisa), we get along just swell.
All in all, our weekend away in Margaret River was one I am not likely to forget anytime soon & I am counting down the days until I can get my butt back over to Western Australia. Now to crack open that bottle of rosé that found its way back with me… x
